EFPM “SPIRIT OF FAIR PLAY” AWARD 2024 presented to Antimo IUNCO for promoting the importance of ethics in sport

Antimo Iunco is an Italian footballer who currently coaches the U16 team of the Crazy Academy in Verona. Antimo's U16 team were 1-2 down. With only a few minutes left, his team scored a goal. A draw against Parona.

But when the coach saw one of his players making a rude gesture towards the opponents, he didn't hesitate for a second. He shouted at him to get off the pitch and go straight back to the bench. Instead of letting his player's taunt go unpunished, his team finished the game in the minority.

His philosophy of life: "Simply because in football and sport, as in life, it's not about winning or finishing first. What really counts are not the results, not the points, but the values.”
