Club Anneessens 25 (BEL) awarded with The European Fair Play Plaque of Merit and Diploma

Club Anneessens 25 (BEL) awarded with The European Fair Play Plaque of Merit and Diploma.

This award is made under the auspices of the European Olympic Committees and awarded to an organisation.

Their Fair Play story:

The Club Anneessens 25`s adventure began in 1980 when Philippe Heymans, the priest of the nearby church, created a mini – football club to bring together the young people of this working – class neighborhood. At the beginning of the Covid 19 crisis, some young people from the club wanted to help people and families in difficulty, weakened by the situation, by preparing and distributing food parcels. The “Colis du Cœur” project was born, in a club room. As time went on, many volunteers joined the team and 200 deliveries were made every day. This project snowballed and developed, setting up relays in other Brussels communes. The club and its team distributed more than 4000 parcels during this complicated period, as well as 250 parcels of toys for children from homes and children of undocumented migrants at the North Station.
