EFPM “Spirit of Fair Play” Award 2024 presented to Pinelopi Nika for her exemplary behaviour and remarkable gesture of Fair Play

During the World Pentathlon Cup Tournament of the Union International de Pentathlon Moderne, the judges made a mistake in Nika's swimming time, giving her a huge advantage and placing her high in the competition standings after the results of two events. She noticed the mistake and immediately informed the judges.  When she tried to explain the situation, the judge thought she was referring to the swim time of one of her opponents and asked if she had any proof. Without hesitation, Penelopi explained that she was referring to her own swim time.  She had denied herself an advantage that would have given her a better result.
