Teachers within the OVEP programme bring Olympic values education to schools
In January, the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee and the National Sports Centre prepared an accredited innovative educational project "Inspirational Education of Olympic Values in Schools".
The Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee and the National Sports Centre, within the framework of the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), prepared an accredited innovative educational project "Inspirational Education of Olympic Values in Schools" for primary and secondary school pedagogues. The event was held in Košice.
The innovative education on Olympic values involved 26 participants from Eastern Slovakia, for whom a rich programme was prepared. The main lecturers were Julián Krull, who updated the participants after the OVEP practical seminar in Lithuania and spoke about "Values not only in sport, but also in life" and "Olympism", and Katarína Ráczová, who presented the values of fair play and respect in practice.
"I would like to thank the National Sports Centre for organising the whole programme. A big thank you also goes to the Secondary School of Sports in Košice for providing the facilities and to its director Tatiana Švecová for her support in training and motivating the participants. I believe that the participants will bring the values of education to their schools," said Ivana Motolíková, Director of the Olympism Department of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee.
