Fair Play story of Radu Fruntes

Since 1991 Radu Fruntes is the Director of the Brașov Country Branch of the Romanian Olympic Academy (ROA). The organisation received the “Olympism Promotion Award” from the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee in 1998. Moreover, in 1999 Radu Fruntes has personally received this prestigious Award. In 2011, the International Olympic Committee granted to Radu Fruntes the “Sport for Social Responsibility Trophy recognizing his effort to promote values through the activities organised at Șimea village. Since 1982 Radu Fruntes organised every year on the 23rd (the day dedicated to the celebration of the Olympism) an event called “Olympic Colour Relay”. The event includes the Olympic Day Run, the sport, culture and Olympic education contest called “School Olympic Pentathlon for the 3rd Millenium” and the bike marathon from Brașov city to Șimea. All the events organised by Radu Fruntes are held under the following mottos: “Defeat yourself” and “Joy in the spirit of peace”. The activities are meant to disseminate the fundamental principles and values of the Olympism, Fair Play included. To sum up, for 40 years, Radu Fruntes is a successful promoter of the Olympic Values which he considers essential for the healthy life style of any individual.
