The International Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CIPC) celebrates its 50th anniversary.
On 19 January, the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee kicked off its 50th anniversary activities at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Following a speech by IPCC President Stephan Wassong, who presented the IPCC's strategic plan, emphasizing the current relevance of Pierre de Coubertin's vision by investing in education and recognition, IOC President Thomas Bach highlighted the importance played by the IPCC in promoting the work and spirit of Baron de Coubertin. Honorary President Jean Durry, concluded the ceremony with a historical overview of the IPCC's 50th years of activities. This event, attended by Thierry Zintz, President of the EFPM Scientific Committee, was an opportunity for Kolë Gjeloshaj, Strategic Coordinator of the EFPM President and IPCC member, to present to Thomas Bach, IOC President, the Perpetual Calendar for a Fair Play World, of which the EFPM is a founding member. The IPCC members will meet in April in Olympia for the 50th anniversary seminar.
