The "Papy Booom" association and its founder Youssef Kaddar (BEL) awarded WITH EFPM “DIPLOMA OF RECOGNITION" 2024

"Papy Booom" is an association founded in 2016 by Youssef Kaddar, a specialized educator working in a nursing home. Drawing on his years of experience, he became aware of the imperative of breaking residents' isolation to counter the feelings of loneliness and malaise that can affect them.
He therefore initiated playful and unconventional activities aimed at getting the elderly active, involving them in the creation of their own projects, and fostering links with people outside the institutions.
Driven by energy, enthusiasm and activity, the "Papy Booom" team aims to break down social barriers, re-establish the value of the elderly, and equalize the importance of the wisdom of the elderly with the energy of youth in our society. Older people are not strangers in our civilization;
they have the ability to communicate their knowledge, to be dignified, beautiful, and to have fun just as much.
In 2024, the non-profit organization "Papy Booom" enthusiastically organized the third edition of
the Inter-Home Senior Olympics! This incredible event was hosted by HE2B students and brought
together seventeen Brussels nursing homes. Nine disciplines were on show for a day full of fun and
friendly competition.
